FOR ALL CLASSES, copies of the pieces to be performed must be provided for the adjudicator.

There are no age restrictions in any class. If you enter with pieces of different grade levels, you must enter the class for the highest grade level, e.g. if there is a grade 2 and a grade 3 piece then you must enter Recital Class – piano solo Grade 3.

Competitive Classes

M1

Recital Class – piano solo Grade 1

Own choice of at least two contrasting pieces. 
Marks will be given for musical awareness and choice of repertoire. 
Time limit 5 minutes.

M2

Recital Class – piano solo Grade 2 

Own choice of at least two contrasting pieces. 
Marks will be given for musical awareness and choice of repertoire.

Recital Class – piano solo Grade 3

Contemporary piano solo Grade 4 and above

One piece written since 1950.

The Bach Prize
Any movement or movements by JS Bach. 
Time limit 10 minutes.

Performance of Own Piano Composition

Time limit 6 minutes.
Copy of score to be provided for the adjudicator.

M15

Concert Class for Piano Pre Grade 1

A certificate of performance will be awarded to all performers. 
One or two own choice pieces.

M16

Concert Class for piano Grades 1 and 2

A certificate of performance will be awarded to all performers. 
One or two own choice pieces.

M17

Concert Class for piano Grades 3 and above

A certificate of performance will be awarded to all performers.

Duet Concert Class for piano Any Grade

For 2 Pupils or Teacher/Parent and Pupil. A certificate of performance will be awarded to all performers.
